What counts as mental health issues for the purposes of question 13? The decision maker decided that I don't score anything for this because I can plan and follow a route unaided. This is only true for journeys to familiar places (13a). Even then I am unable to cope with crowds and busy roads - I find them stressful and they cause anxiety. I cannot travel to unfamiliar places without someone to support and assist me, also because of stress and anxiety (13b), a fact that was conveniently ignored by the decision maker.

I'm planning to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, so advice on twould be helpful.

Hi Irene,

In order to score points here, a claimant needs to have a diagnosis of a mental health problem ( or documented cognitive or sensory problems). This includes depression, anxiety, bipolar etc. More weight is given if there has been referral to a specialist and/or medication prescribed.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Had my report back and I am confused at the phrase "The claimant did not report significant functional problems with this activity and there was no evidence to suggest otherwise" this phrase is on every activity throughout although I have been scored 17 for daily living and 12 for mobility and the assessor has reasoned that it is "Therefore medically reasonable to suggest she can walk for 1 metre but no more than 20 metres" why the contradiction? I am so confused.

The phrase is clearly at odds with the recommended score. I'm afraid I can't explain it, I suspect they have done a copy/paste across the document and have not checked what it was they copied.

I'm afraid you will have to wait and see how the Decision Maker interprets it.

Gordon
