ESA/PIP Assessments

Hi Ben. I have read your messages and want you to know you are not alone. As Gordon's excellent advice and other forum members, most of us feel exactly the same as you. We really do rely on this excellent website to guide us through what can only be described as sheer terror and stress of claiming or keeping what we have or entitled to.
I too went to ask my GP for a letter of support as she has done in the past. I was so shocked when she refused, using nearly the same wording as your GP. I als have been parked by the NHS. I can only tell you my experience to try and alleviate your worries.
I was accessed beginning of this year from DLA mobility to PIP. As I had no recent reports etc I photocopied old X Ray's, reports and even the last GP letter of support from my previous claim. I got my daughter to write me a letter stating how my several illnesses impacted my regimented life.
I found the actual f2f assessment had the most impact on the decision maker so try not to worry, just photocopy what you have and keep a copy of everything you send. The main thing is making sure you describe how each thing affects you, pain, reliably, repeating etc just follow the guides.
I was awarded PIP HR Mobility and gained over £50 a week by being awarded Medium Care too. Although I had just purchased my Motability vehicle I was able to keep my car as would have had to sell it, so not all bad outcomes. All due to following the guides.

According to Paul Gray's latest review of PIP the rollout from DLA to PIP is not now likely to be completed until October 2018.

I know it won't be of much comfort for any of us given we're all still on a knife-edge not knowing when our own DLA claims are coming up to be re assesseed for PIP. However i thought people might still be interested to know of the DWP's latest deadline.

Does anyone have any up to date information as to whether ESA reassessments are being done on time in the London area ? And who's likely to be exempt from having to undergo repeat assessments in the future ?

I understand the advice we're given is to treat each assessment as a separate entity.However for those of us who've been claiming IB/ESA for many years does the DWP keep a record of each assessment ,the evidence we've provided and the prognosis we've been given ?

The reason i ask is that i'm wondering whether the DWP itself will switch off ESA reassessments for long term claimants under the new rules based on the information they already hold ? Rather than forcing yet another assessment with Maximus who'll have no idea of the claimants history ?
