Hi Jane

I was told 6 to 8 weeks for a decision and they were right it took 8 weeks.
Soon tired of going to the letterbox everyday after a few weeks, best to focus on something else good in your life and hope you don't have to wait as long as i did, but I would not expect anything less than 6 weeks.

I just had another question...are the assessors meant to write the score down on their report? As on mine it just has the little dot next to the relevant questions. Does a case manager add it all up? Thankyou

Hi Jane,

The assessor would usually write down the wording of the descriptor they believe is satisfied but not, necessarily, supply the actual points.

Just a quick update, and to say thankyou for all your help here on this site. I verbally got my decision on 4th October via phone call saying I have received the enhanced rate of both care and mobility and received this in writing last Friday. To say I am shocked is an under statement as I was on lower for dla.
Personally I found the whole process of going from dla to pip ok...I got a home assessment from Atos after explaining why I couldn't get to an appointment at one of their centres. The assessor arrived on 7th September, and stayed at my home for around an hour and a half. She handed her report in which they received on the 9th September. I requested a copy which I received exactly one week later. The case manager made a decision exactly 3 weeks after receiving the form, then a week after that the letter arrived.
I just want to thank the site again for all the information you provide, and help received in the forum.
