My wife is going to write me a letter of support as she is the one that looks after me. Can you advise the best way of her going about this? Is it best for her to go through every question on the form and briefly say how she helps with each activity? Roughly how long should this letter be or rather how short?

Name and address at top, how she knows you and how often she sees you, I know it should be obvious, details of your problems as she seems and/or the assistance she gives. Lastly she needs to attest that the information is correct to the best of her knowledge.

It's up to you how you format the letter, there is some sense to breaking it into the same sections as the PIP2.

I would be cautious about how she refers to your problems, it's important that she does not come across as doing things for you because it is more convenient for you both to do it that way, you will only score points for things you cannot do, so she needs to explain why this is the case where applicable.

Also going back to what I mentioned about q6 could they argue that I should have a stair lift in place?

No, PIP does not consider your ability to use stairs and the use of aids or appliances must be reasonable, a stair lift would not meet this criteria.

As Mrs H has posted you need to explain the problems you would have using a bath or shower If you were able to get to them without problem.

I have just noticed in the PIP guide there is mention of a phone call rather than a visit from a HP how likely is a person getting this and is it worth mentioning in your form that you are will to take the interview by phone.... btw form is done thanks Gordon and Miss HB for your help x

There are two aspects to this, claimants can receive a call prior to a face to face assessment to clarify some aspects of their PIP2, or they can phone you to do the assessment over the phone.

We occasionally see the former but the latter is quite rare, where we have seen it done it has resulted in zero points.

I would not recommend pushing for that option.
