Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi David and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
Like DLA, PIP is not warded for the specific diagnosis but because of limitations arriving from it/them. Unlike DLA, a PIP award depends on scoring points against specific descriptors. This is explained in detail in our PIP guide
PIP help for claimants
May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your wife's PIP without having to start a new topic each time. It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim is kept in one topic - and I hope you will find it useful too

Hi David,
I'm sorry that your wife is finding this so stressful If she does decide to go ahead with the claim, we will give you both as much support and information as we are able - but I won't pretend that we can make it easy or free of stress.

The PIP1 is only used to start the claim process, she will have opportunity to explain her limitations when you receive the PIP2. Tell her not to worry, no damage done.
