You can, but I think it is very unlikely that it will be granted without a letter from your GP.

Had a phone call this morning off Practice manager of the doctors. She must have realised how disappointed we were in them, for no support. The GP has wrote a letter for my hubby asking for a home assessment. So the form has now gone off and we will wait for the next stage!! But for the time being we can breath and maybe sleep a bit better to night..

feel for you !! my OH has been on DLA since his strokes 1994 , leaving him with permanent post stroke central pain syndrome, initially lower rate, then as the years went by, his needs changed and heart disease made its presence known , 9 stents on the right coronary artery , cant have by-pass as he has thrombotic blood disease his needs became more and more , now on HR care and HR Mob. As a result of being his carer , my health has taken a battering and there are days he has to help me!!

just when we have got me " sorted " after 3 atos medical in 18 months , the envelope for PIP has come, i think it looks a tad thin, tbh,i haven't even looked at it! thats how bad is for many of us now, the constant mental emotional and stressful "officialdom".

This week we found out fom cardiologist , he now has an enlarged lymphnode on his lung, they suspect cancer...

well done for completing the form , i feel for you, as if you both dont have enough to deal with. I am tempted to just write "he has a pulse" on each page! arrrgghh!! :silly:

i would just say , this forum has been my saving grace. it will be yours too. good luck with it.

Awwww so sorry to hear about you and your husband, None of us need this at all. Its just so unfair I think. Penalise the ones that are swindling the system not the genuine poorly ones like yourselves and my husband. I am dreading the assessment because my husband is so quiet and never complains, but for the minute I am just so glad that form has gone. I'm sure we have probably missed things off but I don't care now, its been so stressful the last few weeks. Everything has been on hold in the house, just couldn't face anything. So this afternoon I'm now tackling a mountain of ironing!!!!! And have to say I slept a lot better last night, better than I have in weeks. Hope everything turns out ok for your husband, regarding this new diagnosis, and you look after yourself too. Will keep you updated and good luck with yours.

Was just wondering we sent the form back on Wednesday recorded delivery, do they let you know when they have received it? Today was the date it had to be back for. Getting a bit worried in case they havnt received it. Should I ring them?
