Please forgive me as I don't remember the background to you having 2 claims on the go.

However, I certainly wouldn't rely on the current assessor seeing anything to do with a previous claim.

If you don't want a home assessment, contact ATOS and say so.

:) Thank you.

My first claim was stopped because the centre was the centre of London and could not attend, I asked for the centre in the same town as me and was refused.

I started a new claim. The home visit is actually for my first claim.

Thanks to your help and guides I know I have filled in the new assessment better and wonder if the assessor will see my new claim form.

I am worried because my house is rented so limited adaptions and my Parents are argumentative and wiered with strangers it would have a negative outcome plus I see from your forums they don't always turn up on time or even the day! :S

;) I am not able to go upstairs even to the bathroom which I am not able to use even if I could.
My Parents and Brother sleep upstairs and in the tiny room is my possessions I had.

There is a downstairs loo.

Does the assessor have the right to demand to go upstairs? If we say no could that go against my claim as I have seen this on guides. Either way I am very frightened that I will say the wrong thing and be misinterpreted and it is an early appointment with a 2 hour window and it says they can stay 2 hours so my poor parents will be out in the cold for 4 hours if atos are late.

The assessor has no right to look around your home, we haven't actually heard of a PIP assessor asking to look around.

Why aren't your parents staying with you? You are perfectly entitled to have at least one of them with you as a companion.

Hi pennyman. I was given a 9am to 11am slot home accessement earlier this year for PIP. He came early at 8.40am, so I was on my own until 9am when my daughter came to support me. I agree with Gordon's advice. Assessor stayed in the room and never asked to see any other room so try not to worry. After letting him in I laid on the sofa for the full time apart from when he asked me if we could change places so he could type and see me better. I placed all my aids on the table so it backed up my form. It will help you having a downstairs loo if you have to live and sleep downstairs. Just be honest and let them know how bad your conditions affect your daily life. Wishing you well on the result.

I strongly advise as Gordon has suggested that you should have people with you. Also your parents should not have to go out in the cold because an assessor is coming to see you, in fact i think they would prefer to see you as you live.

Also they have NO INTEREST in staying for 2 hours, usually it says it takes up to 1 hour, never heard of 2 hours, its not in their interests to stay longer than necessary. Mine felt like lots of detailed questions about form but took 51 minutes.

I would have your parents at home and at least one of them with you if not bot, I don't think the assessor will object
