PIP timescales was created by F
Hi,

I had infinite HRC and HRM (DLA), but got the letter inviting me to claim PIP this morning. I've done the phone call, how long until I get the PIP2 form, and how long will I have to fill it in? I was also wondering why they asked on the phone if I'd been hospitalised for MH issues, how does that affect things please?

The PIP2 usually takes 7-10 days, if it takes longer then chase the DWP. You will be given 28 days to complete the form but this includes postage time at both ends of the period.

The hospitalisation question is to do with risk, if you had answered yes then they may have automatically extended the period to complete the form, you can still ask for an extension, and you computer record would have been flagged in case you fail to return the form.

Please have a look at the PIP Claim guide for assistance in completing the form.

I've been on a section 2 and a section 3, which I told them, so perhaps they'll extend the time period as you say.

Thanks for the link to the guide, I'd already rejoined and found it, very helpful.

Should I say what activities I have help from carers with? Do they lend any weight to this, and is it worth me including social services most recent care plan and assessment of my needs?

Yes you should, but you also need to explain why you need this care, again yes to the latest care plan, it's an independent review of your needs.

How long does it take for the PIP2 to come? They texted at 8am on monday to say it had been sent. I'm anxious about having time to fill it in with help from my CPN.
