Maximus should have looked at your ESA50 and attached papers to decide whether a face to face is required or not, there are two aspects to this; first the risk to the claimant if one is carried out but the overriding decision they need to make is whether they can make a recommendation on the information available, if not and they are unable to source additional information then they may have no choice but to conduct a face to face.
I'm not suggesting that this has been done with sufficient efficiency in regard to your claim.
I'm afraid you need to contact Maximus about their reasons for asking for an assessment and look to see how you might remove the requirement.
It can also help if you contact your MP
Contacting your MP
I have to ask, would a home assessment be a reasonable compromise?
I'm afraid the bottom line if you cannot remove the requirement is that you must attend or risk your claim being closed.

thank you for your swift reply. Maximus refused to provide information. I have to wait for a complaints form, write my questions on it, return it and await their response. The f2f is on Monday November 7th, not much time. I was not allowed to speak to a manager. What do you think?
Thank you.

got the information from DWP. "insufficient evidence". Decided by nurse, psychologist /autism specialist's opinion of substantial risk ignored. My specialist is to write to Maximus. Should I still contact my MP?
Many thanks for your invaluable advice.

I would, it can take them time to get up to speed on what is happening, by the time you have the report and it has been seen by Maximus there may not be time for them to take any action if you still need it.
