Miserable wrote: I just called maximus to see when my f2f would be and he said that they made a decision not to give me a f2f!!

He said it's good news and that they had sent their report to the decision makers.

I should hear back by the 15th of December, I don't know if I should get my hopes up of being awarded esa because he said it's good news??

I never had this before, I had to have a f2f last time.

You cannot be found Fit for Work without attending a face to face assessment, so you should now be awarded either the WRAG or the Support Group.

Oh that's very good news then!

Is it normal to not need a f2f? I really hope I am in the support group again, I won't cope with wrag.

I think time is going to drag now waiting for the decision letter!

I can only hope that I'll have the same thing happen with pip!

Thank you Gordon your support is priceless!! I couldn't go through all of this without this fantastic site!

Hi Miserable,

It is more common to need a face2face assessment but it is not rare to get an award without.

Hi
I still haven't heard anything about a f2f for pip, the wait is making my mental health so much worse! :(

I've been reading through a lot of the posts on here and I am noticing a lot of people being turned down for mobility because they don't have a cognitive issue when going out even though they are suffering extreme anxiety.

The only place I go is to my Dr and my partner has to come with me in a taxi.

I become incredibly disorientated when I need to go out, I can't think properly, get incredibly dizzy and struggle to breathe, (my partner has to hold onto my arm because I have tried to run into traffic before to try to die)! That is going from my front door straight into the taxi and it continues for the rest of the day, it normally takes a day or 2 to calm down enough, but it also starts a few days before I know I need to go to see my Dr, is that classed as cognitive? I wouldn't be in any fit state to even thank the driver let alone pay him.

I have to take lorazepam before going, I wouldn't be able to leave my home at all without taking the lorazepam. I feel like my medication isn't doing what it's supposed to do, surely I wouldn't still be like this with taking antidepressants and antipsychotics?!

I have extreme panic attacks even when I don't have to leave the house! My curtains are kept closed all the time because I get incredibly distressed if I can see outside, my family cannot turn up when they want, I see my mum or sister hardly ever.

I am working myself into a right state waiting to hear back from pip for a f2f!! I just keep wishing that I'd get lucky and won't need the f2f same as my esa claim but my luck is really bad!

So sorry for going on, I just am not coping with all this and waiting and not knowing if my mental health problems cause me enough issues to match what pip require!! :(

Whilst an Enhanced Mobility award may be a struggle if the claimant does not have cognitive of sensory issues a Standard award for mental health issues is certainly possible.

If I was to make one comment on the problems that members have, we regularly see posts referring to "anxiety" when leaving the home, the PIP Descriptors refer to "overwhelming psychological distress", whilst I stress this is a personal opinion, I do not believe that these two phrases are consistent with each other.
