The personal allowance for tax year 2015-16 was £10,600, so if your mum's total income for the year was under that there would be no tax to pay. Hope this helps, Elaine

This morning I received a capability for work questionnaire, it has been awhile since I've filled one out. I will go through the members guides here very carefully before I fill anything in. But what I am unsure about is how my health has changed. I suffer with mental health difficulties for nearly a decade now. I've always had somatic symptoms with that too. But, I developed a condition where I struggle to walk, my gait has changed, I also experience a lot of pain both at rest and walking. Sometimes I lose my balance without warning and now that the weather is colder that affects me too. I've had various tests via a neurologist and they believe this due to my mental health difficulties. But how do I fill this out on the form, does this class as something that goes in the physical section or do I just put it in the notes?

All you can do is explain the issue as best you can but be aware the ESA legislation clearly separates physical and mental health issues from each other, you will only score points for your walking problems if the underlying condition is a physical one.

Also ESA is not a walking test, it is a Mobility test! In addition to your walking it considers your ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair over the same distances, you do not need to be using a wheelchair or even to own one for it to be considered. SO even if you can show your walking is restricted, unless you can also show that you cannot self-propel the wheelchair you will still not score points.
