 I was told by Atos only double full size cassette recorder is permitted.
Do I have to tell them if a home visit?
I am not able to write and shocking memory so it would be very helpful and would offer protection in case I was quoted wrongly but would it antagonize the HCP? :S

:pinch: Atos cancelled home visit and the offered a paper assessment. The same day the DWP said they would demand a F2F and tried to push for a centre then said okay to another home visit.

Atos sent a letter thanking me for contacting them -they contacted me- and gave me a very early morning appointment despite me not able to move then. Will it be detrimental if they see I have seen them so early in the day. Technically I could change it but worried I could fall sick also worried Atos have pretended I cancelled it!

You still need permission to make a recording on a home assessment as one of the requirements is that the assessor agrees to be recorded. I would write to the Assessment Provider to make the request.

As they will have agreed, you should not worry about "upsetting" the assessor.

Hi Pennyman,

You are quite right to be concerned about cancelling the assessment, it would mean that you have to attend the next appointment come what may.

If ATOS have cancelled an assessment you might find this helpful

As an aside, it is situations like yours - where things are rather complicated - that really shows up the need to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic, rather than starting a new one each time you have another question or comment! When I have time I will merge all of your queries into one topic, please will you then use this in future? You will find it easily if you bookmark/favourite it on your web browser now - alternatively you can click on your username (in blue when you are logged into the site) and it will bring up a list of all your previous messages :)

:) Hi I was just worried about writing too much and it was 2 separate topics so I thought it was best to keep it simple that way. Thanks

:( My Carer has had their Carers and income support stopped now. While we wait another 6 weeks for an Atos assessment.
We are worried about our housing benefit.
They can't leave me but should they swap to JSA? You have to declare they are free to work.

What do people do in this situation?
