I have been doing some research too and found that a welfare rights worker supported a client through the appeal process at which point they were awarded points for 7C and 9D so this is a positive instance but know we still have to fight tooth and nail to show how we meet the criteria.
Having read the Upper Tribunal's judgement I am hopeful that I have explained my difficulties spread across both communication and socially mixing with people - that they are interlinked but also individual issues in their own right and a hearing impaired person should be able to be considered for both if these issues DO affect them and they are able to demonstrate HOW and WHY both would apply. In theory it is quite clear but I am aware in reality a totally different story but should I get turned down I will certainly be quoting this in my MR and appeal case....will keep in touch.
