Hi, sorry back so soon but wanted to ask you if you think someone with OCD has to remain under the care of a CMHT and have a care-coordinator always with long term OCD, I mean if you opt out and say no to the support, would it mean future ESA claims would be turned down because you are not under anyone's care and therefore you will have no new evidence for future claiming. It is just that this sectioning threat has terrified the living daylights out of me. Today I had the OCD specialist(who my psychiatrist has referred me to) phone me about coming to my home to assess me with another doctor, I said to him my concerns that in the referral letter my psychiatrist had mentioned he had considered assessment under The Mental Health Act (sectioning) but he(my psychiatrist) felt it better to try their specialist OCD treatment on me via home visit. I said how I am really nervous that he and his accompanying doctor when assessing me might make me go into hospital and he replied that was not the plan but said he did not know what my psychiatrist might do if I refused this visit/ assessment/treatment. I feel really trapped now, I am thinking of going private but not sure I can get away from the CMHT now. I was left out of their CMHT system for many months after their psychologist after 4 visits decided i could not engage in CBT and due to lack of funding discharged me. But I went back to them (just a phone call) cos I wanted CBT properly, was given a care-coordinator who I talk to sometimes on the phone and now it has escalated to this. Basically one minute i am discharged, then the next with noone seeing me this 'sectioning 'is being brought up. It does not make sense. I want to go private for CBT but will then lose the care-coordinator and the CMHT support for ESA stuff for the future (if my OCD stays)

This is a medical question which we are not qualified to answer on the forum.

Sorry Gordon, my question was meant for Mosala. Is it ok for me to use the forum in this way? If it makes it difficult please say so, I know that it means you have to spend time reading it to monitor it for the forum. I am not sure whether it is acceptable for me to use the forum to 'converse' with another forum member. I know answering questions on this forum is time consuming for you and i do not want you to feel I am 'taking the mickey' by writing stuff to another member that you have to spend even more time reading through. Please let me know if it is ok for me to write to another forum member

I don't have a problem with members conversing with each other, within reason but it's not something we will be promoting, we've run a discussion forum in the past and it ended up with the Moderating team, that's when we had a team, spending most of their time managing it.
