I don't think that there is any consistency in the way that texts are used by the DWP but I would have expected then to have confirmed receipt of your PIP2 so it might be worth your contacting just to check.

As to an appointment for a face to face assessment, they have to give you seven days written notice, some members have reported receiving reminders of the appointment by text, but I don't think that everybody who has supplied their mobile number has received the texts.

Thanks Gordon for that,I will have to phone them and ask, with my esa form I got a text to say they got that form.I see from royal mail that the letter was received early in the morning,so I hope that a security guard at the gate has not put it to one side. Theres always something goes wrong when I do anything

Hi I see on the guides that sometimes a hp may phone when a pip application is in. I have got 2 phone calls this week and was not quick enough to pick up,it seems to be a number starting with 077..... but when I dial it a message says this number is unobtainable.Would anyone know if it could be related to my pip claim. Is there any set rules ref when a form for pip is received by DWP do the have to give you a date inside that first 2 weeks for a f2f..thanks

It's not impossible but I think it very unlikely, number starting 07 are mobile numbers and I would expect an assessor to phone from the Assessment Providers offices.

Thanks for your last reply, the postman has just gone by and in my post today there was 2 white enev on the back of them it says Capita PIP,so the first one I opened was them telling me an hp is looking at my claim and they will be in touch,so opened the next one which was dated 2 days later saying that they have made a decision that I have to have a f2f and they are coming to my house in 2 wks time (which I prefer them not to) So I am thinking me filling in a 40 page form and submitting consultants letters and my own 8 pages of writing, did not make any inpact on them and I am thinking did they even read the stuff.

I asked them to look at it on paper as my cardiac consultant says in it for me to avoid stressful situations,so I am now thinking what is more important to me avoid stressful things like this or money.and the first idea is at the front of my mind,I think I have had enough of this carry on and am going to loose alot out certainly, but people who are not well have to sit and write their health story for a stranger and he/she decides to keep it going for another while,I just think it is time for the big shots to take the money and do what they want. So what way would I bring this claim to an end as I have lost interest in the whole thing and life to be honest..thanks

It's your decision but once you stop your claim there is no way back to it except by starting again from scratch, so maybe wait a few days before actioning it.

You should write to the DWP office dealing with your claim explaining that you want to close your claim.
