UPDATE:

He got full enhanced rate awarded for BOTH daily living and Mobility too until 2020, so that's a little bit less stress off of the guys mental health now although he is still extremely ill.

I just hope he lives to get the benefit of it, by that time (2020) it will be fully in control of the Scottish Government anyway as that was one of the powers that was devolved in March 2016 but it takes a few years to fully get up and running, so that will mean no more Atos or Capita ( the profit making companies) used for assesments either as the Scottish government will not be dragging people through these horrible disgusting degrading assessments, they will be using totally non profit fully trained professional organisations to do this instead which makes complete sense and is 100 times more Humane and respectful to people that are ill.

I believe the award was given because the PIP 1043 form was filled in correctly with a professional person in the end with all new or no changes fully explained, so for example if there was a change in certain things to say something got worse then you tick the box to say worse and explain in detail why and also if you tick a box saying no change then also fill in the the box and just explain in detail anyway and treat it like a new claim as you did with the original claim even though there isn't any change, but don't just write nothing, write what was wrote on the original claim form if you still have copies.

Also include back up support letters from any of your health professionals that you have seen even if they date back months add those or get new ones, the more the better, that I believe helped the claiment a lot.

These are just my opinions and thoughts on possibly why it worked correctly for this claiment as it should have done anyway, Plus, try and always make sure at the very least someone from your local CAB or something like that fills the form in as they do these things everyday literally, better still, a social worker if you have one etc, people like that unless you are confident in doing it yourself that is.

So, I just thought I would say in case this helps other people too.

Thanks.

Edit : also meant to add too, include all and any invoices or paperwork you have for anything purchased to try and help the disabled person, I.E - shower stools, special gloves required for cleaning the person and/or or applying ointments etc, every single thing that the NHS do not supply that you need to buy seperate, make sure to include all, even if there is 100's of bits of paperwork, if you can get everything copied cheap then that helps to keep records of everything, this lets them (atos or capita) see the amount of money the person is having to spend on things to try and help their condition and care, even if the disabled person has to pay money for things to help a person that is looking after them, if they need to buy things for the person that is cleaning them for example, include all that too, everything and anything.

People tend to forget about all these things, that's why I am saying and they can cost a fortune if it's going on constantly too.

Gordon, I would have thought it would be useful to have a letter included from the GP, confirming no change or the changes that have happened since the previous aware?

If so, you probably won't have time but could say this will follow and send it in asap.
