TOPIC: recording devices

recording devices 11 months 2 weeks ago #192973

Can you use a Dictaphone for recording, because not everyone will have a tape or CD recorder?

Gordon. This looks like a way of getting out of allowing people to record their assessments. Any device should suffice. They know that most claimants do not own a tape or CD recorder. I have heard stories from claimants that what is being said by the claimant is not what the assessor is writing/typing. This cannot be legal. Hence the reason for a legitimate recording device.

Claimants do not have a legal right to require their assessments are recorded, it is an accommodation by the DWP to allow it, basically it's their house, their rules.
