PIP

Hi all,this is my first post so if I do something wrong please forgive me. I was getting DLA middle rate care and low rate mobility but had the letter to claim PIP and had f2f with Atos on 28/617 which I stupidly thought had gone ok, on Saturday morning (15/7/17) the hated brown envelope arrived I had not got enough points to be awarded PIP only 4 points for each component. I will be asking for a mandatory reconsideration but would like to know if I need to phone and request this or if I can just send my written request with reasons and extra evidence? I have phoned and asked for a copy of the assessment report but can see from the decision letter that the assessor has lied, I am unsure if I should wait for the report or send the request in before as the decision letter is dated 10/7/17 so only have 3 weeks, i cant believe how quick it was from f2f to decision not even 2 weeks. Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated

Hi Gordon, thank you for replying, I have looked at the guide and template letters in the PIP area and I am now trying to compose my letter, I would like to ask your opinion on a couple of things written in the decision letter, I have physical and mental health issues and one of the reasons given for not awarding points was that "you do not have a diagnosed cognitive impairment, you are not receiving any specialist input for depression and you are taking a standard dose of antidepressant medication". I am not currently seeing the mental health team but do have a crisis card given to me by them and can contact them at any time if i really need to should i send a copy of this card with my mandatory reconsideration letter? I take three different medications for depression and anxiety all of which are the highest dose you can be prescribed so definitely not a standard dose, an example of this is that i saw my G.P a few days ago after an incident that left me very distressed and she said she was reluctant to give me any more medication as i was already on a very high dose, would it be worth telling them this along with sending copy of prescription which I did already send with my claim form and took to f2f. I have sciatica, bursitis and plantar fasciitis all of which cause me a great deal of pain, i have had a couple of courses of steroid injections which left me in more pain and take high doses of Co-codamol and Ibuprofen together for this and use an ice pack for a little relief but on my decision letter it says "you are not taking any pain relief" i am wondering if assessor has said i just use the ice pack which is ridiculous as i have provided copies of all prescriptions, as this has been repeated 3 times in the letter as part of why i scored no points obviously a lot of weight has been given to this absolute untruth I feel it is really important to correct this, do i say its a lie or suggest that that the assessor may have got confused ? I am sorry this is so long and i feel like i am ranting but i would be really grateful for any advice you can give

Hi Gordon, can i just ask something that is puzzling me, on my decision letter which is dated 10/7/17, it says "I have looked at your claim and decided at this time" i cant award you PIP for help with your daily living needs from 28 February 2017 at this time i cant award you PIP for help with your mobility needs from 28 February 2017" my question is what are these dates about, February ??? is this an error or something i don't understand?
