Hi Roy,
Under the circumstances, might it be a good idea to access your wife's GP records and take a copy of anything useful?
Requesting Your Medical Recordsl
Charging for medical records

Dear Roy, I hope you and your wife are doing okay. I contacted the HMCTS Office dealing with my appeal for waiting times (as Gordon suggested). I asked for a hearing in Bristol. They told me that the Bristol waiting time was 18 to 17 weeks, and last week I was on 17. So now I am 'in the frame', however my letter said that unless I opted for a short notice cancellation option, I would have 2 weeks notice. I don't want to upset you or your wife, but it doesn't seem like you are asking for a specialist report from your GP, from them it just needs a letter confirming the conditions (s)? I thought also, you could contact the admin / secretary of the specialist(s) and say how important it is, can they just send copies of previous reports (and hasten an appointment?)

Hello Again Folks.......
Thank You for all your advice, I've actually been VERY busy chasing up our GP for a letter, but got no joy there as of today. They seem VERY reluctant to do this, even if I pay for it ( They charge a minimum of £25 and maximum of £100, and with all of my Wife's medical conditions, it will probably be the latter )....However, I have recently been reading that they may have filled out an ESA 113 ( which I have never heard of before ) from the DWP, about my Wife's medical conditions. So, my question today is...Have they GOT to reply to this demand from the DWP, and can I get a copy, and if I do, would it be a good idea to present it to our Tribunal hearing.......obviously depending on what they say...
Also, after MANY phone calls and personal visits to my Wife's Specialists, we are indeed getting somewhere, in as much as we have 4 appt:s in the next 4 Weeks to see them, and I'm hoping I can get something in writing from them to verify my Wife's serious medical conditions, and the problems she now has on a daily basis. I can only hope they are sympathetic to our problems with the DWP, and WILL help.......
So, at least we are getting somewhere now, I just hope that it will be not be too late, with the Letters from the Specialists, if we get a date soon for our Tribunal hearing......perhaps I can request a later date if that does happen. Any further advice on the above post would be appreciated.......
Thank You......

Hi Mr Roy,
The assessors contact the claimant's GP in only around 25% of cases. The GP is supposed to reply but only around 25% do so. Even when they do, it is often just a few lines confirming diagnosis.
When the evidence 'bundle' arrives, it will contain all paperwork related to the claim, this will include the ESA113 if there is one

Thanks for your quick reply Mrs Hurtyback.......
Well, I recieved our " Bundle " a good few weeks back now, and there was nothing like an ESA 113 in there,as I read it from cover to cover. In fact the only thing I hadn't seen before was the first few pages, which ended with the original question to start off this thread. Although I must admit I'm a bit baffled as to just WHY our G.P.'s Surgery are VERY reluctant to write a letter on behalf on my Wife, for us to submit to the DWP and Tribunal. Have you any thoughts on that one.....

It is becoming increasingly common for GPs to refuse letters of support. Some genuinely seem to think that DWP will ask for what they need. Others take the stance that they are not going to do the government's dirty work for them and others simply say that they do not have time on top of everything else they must do.
As I said earlier, it is now possible for the claimant to read their GP records and take copies of anything that might be supportive.
