DLA to PIP - my turn

I've had the dreaded letter saying my DLA is ending. I've had a legal advocate help me with completion of the forms and they fit in very well with the member guides on here.
As my medical evidence is all quite old, some dating back to mid 1990's I also asked my GP to complete the descriptors form that I printed from here and she has written me a very good letter stating how my conditions affect me, what adaptations I've had done and all about my physical health and mental health, including my severe anxiety, panic attacks and cognitive issues..
I've been told on another site that DWP aren't taking notice of GP letters, surely my GP is the person who knows me best. She sees me frequently and cares for all my issues. Is this true or do I send the letter with my forms.
I'll be sending off my pack on Monday, what sort of timescale are they running to now, does anyone know?

I wouldn't say that GP letters are always discounted but I'm afraid they often are

In some areas there are significant delays before the claimant is required to have a face2face assessment (or informed that they do not need to have one).

You got that right Mrs H. It feels like an axe has fallen.
So I send off the GP descriptors form to them? She has ticked all the ones she feels are relevant to me based on her knowledge of me and my OT assessments. If she was my assessor I would get enhanced on both but who knows what they think in their ivory towers.
The letter is written from her point of view, not mine and refers to examinations she has done etc. I presume that is better than 'she tells me....'
My nerves are already frayed and she is keeping in touch with me throughout this process. I am very lucky to have such a good GP I guess.

If you have not yet returned your completed PIP2 form you should send a copy of the GP letter along with it.

If you have already returned the PIP2, I would suggest sending a copy to the assessment provider and one to DWP, just to be on the safe side.

Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS

I've got everything together I hope, got a pile here about an inch thick to send off.
Can I please ask, I have photocopied my old DLA doctors assessment from 2012. Even though it is 5 years old and my conditions have worsened, the doctor does state in his summary that I am likely to get worse over time and the rest of it seems to be supportive of the new PIP descriptors. Would it be okay to send this off?
I also have most recent consultant letters from rheumy, neurology, muskuloskeletal, pain clinic and OT as well as a fantastic letter from my GP.
Do they do many paperbased assessments? I'm quietly hoping they will.
