Well, the ESA50 envelope arrived, here we go again

I sent a message yesterday asking if I should contact the DWP about when my next assessment is due and I was afraid to do so in case it triggered anything, I opened my big mouth too soon, the forms came today, so if the mods have not yet approved that message you can delete it. This shows there are no deferrals in my area then as this is dot on time to when I sadly expected to get it. So yet again, here comes the merry go round.

Can someone tell me who I contact to get my ESA85 forms from last time ? I had a F2F 3 years ago back when it was ATOS. Would it be the job centre or DWP ? Or the address on the envelope I have just been sent ? Does including the previous ESA85 with my ESA50 return help anything ?

How often do they contact your GP ? If they are thinking of putting you in the support group without F2F does that always mean a GP letter ? My doctors change around all the time, my last regular one retired not long ago, I don't have one who knows me fully. I remember last time they said they sent a GP letter and it was never returned so I needed a F2F to qualify for support group, which I did, so I guess they do send them. Just so confusing. That was also ATOS, not sure how different MAXIMUS is.

P.S : By the way, just thought this might help, but some of the links seem to go to an error page or out of date page, I managed to find the ones needed but just thought you should know it might be wise to click each link in the Members Only Guides section to double check. The ESA50 downloadable form link seems to have changed for instance, and the "DWP Guides" link (which shows under the word ESA) on the left menu goes to a 404 page.

Many thanks !!

Try contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim for your last ESA85, it may still be available to them, failing that you will have to make a Subject Access Requesr.

SAR :

www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/request-for-personal-information.rtf

From this page :

www.dwp.gov.uk/privacy-policy/data-protection/

The last time that we saw statistics on it, the GP only contact the GP or other medical contacts on about 25% of claims, it is worth your speaking to your GP in advance, as an even more worrying statistic is that only 25% of GPs bother to reply and not always with the most helpful information.

I'm afraid I can't replicate the problems that you had accessing the guides. If you can be more specific about what you were trying to do then I'll have another look.

Thanks for your help. Sorry for so many questions below, hope you don't mind me asking them all.

1. Is there anything negative likely to happen if I mention in the ESA50 that I have been in the support group for 3 years ?

2. I am asking for my 2014 ESA85 and my 2012 ESA85A, is that okay, or can I only ask for one ?

3. What is the LT54 and is this written on all successful decisions ? Should I ask for this too ?

4. The interactive ESA50 forms keep getting smaller. Last time I filled one in the text would get smaller the more I typed which was great and useful, but now I can only fit a few lines per box sometimes as which is not enough. Is there something I am not doing to make it work or did the DWP change it so the text no longer shrinks the more you type in a box ?

5. Back in 2012 I was put straight in the Support Group from just my ESA50. In 2014 I had to have a F2F. The info on both was the same as my condition is long term. Did anything change regarding getting in the support group from a ESA50 alone between 2012 and 2014 ?

6. My medication changes often. What happens if I put a medication on my ESA50 that is later removed from my prescriptions before my GP gets the ESA113 ? As they have to write down all medication taken.

7. When a GP is given the ESA113 do the DWP ask for any other info on top, such as specialist report info, or are they just given the form to fill in and that is all ?

8. Do I presume the Wolverhampton address (along with my local centre as the heading name on it) is the correct one to send the request for ESA85 forms to ?

Regarding the links. The links that don't seem to work for me are when I click Esa Resources on the left menu after first clicking on "Employment and Support Alloance (ESA)" in the menu. It goes to this link "benefitsandwork.co.uk/esa-resources" for me which is a 404. Also the link within your ESA PDF guide seems to be outdated (the DWP seem to have changed the URL). Also when I click on Members Only Guides in the menu and then click on the sub link of DWP Guides it goes to a 404 too. I seem to remember a couple of others last night too. But it might just be me. I can send screen shots if it helps.

Many thanks !!!

1. No nothing negative will happen but don's assume that anything positive will happen either.

2. You can ask for whatever documents you want.

3. The LT54 documents the DMs reasons for the Decision but it is not always produced, so yes ask for it.

4. The DWP changed the settings on the comments box, you can provide your answers on separate sheets if necessary.

5. There were changes in early 2013, whether they would have effected any decision about a face to face is impossible to say. Sometimes it is just down to different assessors having different views of what is in front of them.

6. If asked explain otherwise don't worry.

7. They will only be asked to provide the information requested on the ESA113, there won't be any separate reports.

8. All DWP mail goes to Wolverhampton, the address to use will be the one at the top of your last ESA entitlement letter.

I can't recreate the problems you are having on the site. I think the URL you have included in your post is incomplete, you need to copy it from the address bar if you didn't.

I've notified the office about the ESA50 link.

Hi Gordon. I did copy and paste from the address bar. Not sure why it is showing as incomplete. If you click "Employment and Support Alloance (ESA)" on the menu on the left, then on the same menu click "ESA resources" that will appear under it once the former is clicked, does that link load up okay for you ?

If I ask for say 5 ESA related forms from the DWP is there any negativity seen to doing that by them ? I am not looking to appeal or anything I just want them for while writing up my ESA50 reassessment. Would that matter at all in any way or be seen in a negative light by them when it comes to marking my latest ESA50 ? You can tell I suffer from paranoia :)
