I've noticed in the new 2017 ESA50 renewal assement form. That whole chunks of previous questions are now missing. Alarming the eyesight question which would have awarded my son 15 points previously as after stroke lost half sight from centre to left in both eye's ( homonymous hemianopia). Assement tomorrow, dreading it. They have wasted a whole page on why the firm may be returned late. The old and new version are now probably going to reduce of fail to keep my son in the support group. Which seems so wrong considering the hidden disability's he is now left with after brain surgery to remove a tumour which cause a stroke. Dreading tomorrow now at assement as I don't think I've done a very good job of filling in the new form for him. It is do stressful. Only aware of this missing page today. The goalposts have defiantly move . I think a post to warn claiments and removal of old out of date forms could do to be removed from the site . So the most up to date new forms can be navigated. The 2017 versions are great. Sadly I had not read them before submitting form in May. My error. Just so stress as he only had a home assessment for Pip at the end if lady year.

I'm not aware of any significant changes to the ESA50 since 2013, although there have been some cosmetic changes and slight changes to the wordings of the questions.

However, this is just a form and no more than this, the criteria against which your son is being assessed has not changed since 2013 and I don't believe that the Communicating – hearing and reading activity has changed for some time before that.

Can you be more specific about the changes that you think have been made?

I may be mistaken but was there not previously a section on SIGHT. Where a claimant would remain in the support group ( scoring 15 points) for loss of half or more of previous perfect sight. Maybe I am confusing this with the resent change over from DLA to PIP assessment he needed at the end of last year. Just to add. Taxi booked ready for today's ESA assessment and telephoned 20 minutes before to be told appointment has to be cancelled by them as the person doing the assessment today has had to go home.

I down loaded a PDF headlined. FIT FOR PURPOSE ESA50.Which had 7) Speech.8)Hearing and 9)Seeing. .... But the ESA50 form received in May this year has 7)Communicating,hearing and reading.8)Getting around safely. The previous question originally number 9 is no longer there. No question on sight loss. Hope this clarifies my query. Thank you for quick response yo my initial question.

I'm sorry but there has been no change to the numbering of the questions since 2011. They have always read since then

6. Communicating – speaking, writing and typing
7. Communicating – hearing and reading
8. Getting around safely

Question 7 covers sight problems.
