I was going to use my Sonority digital recorder, but from what I have read even just this 1 recording is not enough. Is this the case even if the recording was put on to a usb stick or memory card for the assessor to take away?

No digital recordings of any kind can be made.

Two recordings must be made simultaneously to tape of CD, you cannot make one and then copy it.

Hello to all mods and all peeps out there.

Not sure whether to start a new post or not.... I just went into my bank account online to sort out some finances to discover that I've been awarded PIP! I started an MR in October and handed it in, along with several new letters of further evidence from doctors, OT and friends. My submission was 6 pages. It was exhausting but I was awarded 0 points after my home assessment so I had no choice but to do it as well as I could and go through all the descriptors.

I'm very happy that they at least changed their minds after what I provided to them. I rang a week ago and was told that the DWP had contacted my assessment provider (Capita) regarding the report they submitted. It sounds to me like they changed their report to give me standard of both care and mobility. Obviously, this is a good thing as I've been on the wrong support for a long time. I have not yet received the decision in writing.
The thing is, I feel I am entitled to enhanced of both...... I just don't know what to do now. This whole process has worsened my health very much at times. I feel I should appeal and go to tribunal but..... I have to consider what this means. The DWP have already put the money into my account. If I appeal to tribunal, will I still receive my standard PIP amount?

I'm still happy, not just because of the better support that I need and have needed for a long time, but I feel like I have been listened to, which is just as important.
My head hurts trying to take it all in-it has literally just happened-but I need some advice on what your experience is regarding appealing for enhanced rate and what that means.

Don't give up. I know not many people get their decision changed at this stage but that's twice in one year I've managed to do that at MR stage. It has taken its toll though... but this has been worth it.
Please if a mod can get back to me about whether I can receive the standard rate whilst appealing the enhanced rate. Thank you in advance.

Very, very best of luck to you all. :) Have a good Christmas and New Year, whatever your situation.

If the DWP have made an award then it will remain in payment during any appeal that you might make.

You need to wait for the DWP to send you the Decision Notice, you will need the MR Notices that it should contain but you also need to understand what points have been awarded and what for before you can consider an appeal.

Think about what you have scored for and what you haven't!

If you have scored for an activity then there is an acceptance that you have problems in that area, however, most of the activities do not go up in levels of severity, often new criteria is introduced as the points go up, which may make it more difficult to score higher.

Conversely, where you did not score raises the issue of showing that you have a problem with that activity in the first place but the lower level points may be able easier to score against, if you can.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Gordon! That is great news.

They sent my decision a week ago but the mail is very slow right now so maybe it will arrive by the end of the week. I will do as you say and focus on the points that I know I qualify for. I didn't hand in daily diaries at MR stage as I haven't written them up properly and was saving them for tribunal, if necessary. I felt it would be very unusual for them to go from 0 points to enhanced at MR stage and was surprised that they changed their decision at all. I thought I would be going to appeal tribunal anyway.
Knowing I will still get my standard award takes off a lot of pressure regarding the appeal tribunal process for enhanced rate.

Thank you and all the mods and supporters so much. It really means a lot to have this support. I will let you know what I decide.

Cheers for now. Merry Christmas.
