This was so similar to mine Rich.

Going by the criteria of what they are supposed to do, a lot was missed out. Maybe some to the good. But I felt it was rushed even though I was so exhausted. I tried to elaborate a few times to give her an idea of what things were like; but she very nicely said, If you just answer the questions as I ask them, rather than try and tell me/give extra information'.

I have been too nervous to apply for the report; choosing to just wait for the decision letter. I know if it goes against me then I will have a lot less time to deal with it.

I was at the Drs yesterday as I have had one of my usual chest infections, and I also wanted to ask him about why my letter had been done by a locum and was just a few lines. The locum had even put a condition down I don't have. The letter hadn't been scanned into the system so I'm a. bit concerned at lack of proof. My Dr hadn't been contacted so far. He assured me that should I have to take it to MC, he would make sure a detailed letter would be ready within a week. All this is so stressful.

I will be calling today to ask for a copy of the assessment. I want to know as soon as possible if we need to prepare for MR and appeal. We've got the neurologist next week. I will make sure we get a proper assessment of her current situation so that it goes into his next report. We might need it.

Today I have been over the moon as my award letter came and I have been awarded standard care and enhanced mobility. From the assessment to the award date was only 3 weeks. I am so relieved it is all over as I have been in such a state. I can't even imagine how much worse it is for those with mental health issues; especially if having to go to tribunal. My lifeline the car I can now keep on the Motability scheme, I never expected such a good outcome with all the terrible stories that I have heard. I am not sure what happens in 3 years; whether I have to go through it all again or if it is a 'has your conditions changed?' type of letter. I shall look into this when the shock has worn off.

I hope your assessment reports were favourable for you and your wife Rich, and you both have a good outcome. I have done quite a lengthy 'thank you' with some of the details which I thought helped when doing the original form. This is on the results/outcomes page.

Congratulations. I am happy that you got what you were looking for and didn't have to wait too long. It's only been two weeks so far for my wife. But it really drags doesn't it. At least you can stop thinking about for a while and just enjoy your independence.

Thank you Rich. It does indeed seem to go slow. I think it was bad enough when going through it all with DLA (appeals and appeals of appeals (point of law); but because of all the horror stories and the changes in criteria, it is like every hour it is on our minds. I will be thinking of you and your wife and hoping for a similar outcome. If you see fit, please let me know how it goes.
