The first thing is to make sure that you understand the criteria they are trying to meet, you don't want to be arguing that they meet criteria that PIP does not consider/

I would make your arguments in something like the following format;

you said X, I believe this is incorrect and that I meet Y, this is because of Z and is supported by the evidence I sent on page A,B and C.

If you can, try and quote from the PIP2.

Dear Gordon,
Thanks. we have prepared a few things in draft form, and just to be on the safe side my friend has an appointment with a CAB advisor tomorrow.
After reading what you have just said, what we prepared probably is not the best, but thanks to the guides at least I was able to tell my friend to ask for the assessor's report which we have now, plus a letter from her G.P. so we can take all this to the CAB advisor as well, which should save a bit of time.
Shall keep you informed of her progress.

Dear Gordon,
My friend has contacted me and told me that she had her tribunal. Unfortunately the date fell on the 27th December which amounted to a 6 month wait. There were no agencies open then to help her, I was away, unable to accompany her, so she went alone which I think was incredibly brave of her.
The decision given was Standard Rate Care and Standard Rate Mobility both for 3 years. Previously she had high care D.L.A with low rate mobility. She asked me should she challenge this. I have told her that I read on this site that if she challenges it then the whole claim is looked at again and she risks losing what she has won!
Have I understood this correctly?

If this was a Decision made at Tribunal then she can only pursue the matter further if she is able to show that there was an Error of Law in the making of the Decision, not because she disagrees with what the Decision actually is.

What is an Error of Law?

Dear Gordon,
Thank you. This is a bit too complicated for me to understand, but I shall certainly pass the information on to her.
