TOPIC: Blue Badge eligibility review

Blue Badge eligibility review 2 months 3 weeks ago #207694

TJQ

1. it is evident that Gordon knows the current limitations (8 mobility points or more) to automatically getting a blue badge

2 his advice was to apply to your local authority to get a blue badge for meeting criteria other than basing it on pip mobility.

3 I am sure Gordon is far too polite to say it, but please if your not going to appreciate the effort this guy goes to, in answering posters questions day in day out.....then by all means don't post again. Its not Gordon's attitude that sucks.

To add ny thoughts..since finding this site, gordon has always been polite and provided me with sound advice. Infact i am sure i would not have explained my forms without his help. I come to this site daily as it helps me feel i am not alone. Don't let the odd rude person get you down gordon.

TJQ wrote: At my recent PIP appeal hearing I was awarded both Enhanced rate Care and Mobility. A total of 17 points in care and 14 in Mobility and yet I am still not eligible for a Blue Badge. I subsequently made some enquiries and discovered that currently there is a government consultation regarding proposed benefits to the scheme in the UK which would enable me to apply for a badge. If you are in a similar situation to myself I would urge you to respond to the consultation which you can do online at; www.gov.uk/government/consultations/blue...e-eligibility-review

The "proposed benefits" are for people residing in England only; Scotland and Wales have their own rules regarding the Blue Badge scheme. Annoyingly, England is lagging behind in this matter.

From your PIP appeal, they probably decided you can move 50 metres but no more than 200 metres: 4 points for moving around. Getting disgruntled and annoyed about the decision, and taking it out on other people isn't very helpful - and it's downright rude. In other words, you're not that disabled to warrant a blue badge...
