Our DLA Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete, this and the other guides in the section will help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.

Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case.

Your submission is another opportunity to present his case but it is not always necessary to do this. You need to consider what further details of your son's problems you can provide, they will be looking at the range of problems that he has and the degree to which he is effected. I'm sure you ahev alrady done this but go back through his original claim form and the evidence that you submitted to make sure that you have explained the above, as clearly as you can.

Normally children are not expected to attend but at 15 he is probably on the cusp, if you think it would be an issue then write to the Tribunal Service and ask the Judge for permission to have him excused.

ok sent off the rm back within 5 days saying no to both elements of child dla. doing the appeal mow and called dwp for the subject request thingy which they said they will arrange and send .
i have also sent the request in writing 1st class and signed for service so they cant say i never sent it.
within 1 hour of calling them they called me back and said they could send the information about my sons dla claim but said i didnt need to ask for the subject sar ? just the stuff relating to my sons dla .
sound like they dont want to send everything and they called to try and get me to agree to sending some information rather than the full history notes and all the rest of the files. any ides why i got this call and what they are trying to do ?

If you are going on to appeal then the DWP's submission, which they will prepare when they received notification of the appeal from the Tribunal Service will include all of the documents used in the making of the Decision, so you should not need to request them separately.
