Can I just thank the members who helped me with this and to let you that I got my supersession of my DLA and got high rates for both care and mobility, this just on my form without medical or even a report from my own doctor, just the help of this forum and the booklets in the members section,it's certainly been worth the money to sign up.

Thanks again Darren

Hi darren

Very pleased for you and thank you very much for your kind remarks.

Regards

Michael

many congrats Darren :)
I am trying to get up the courage to do the same thing as I have gradually got so much worse but it is scary with the way things are
Did you fill in a new claim form or is there another form when your need for help has increased a lot?
thanks for telling the good news it cheered me up a bit :)

Thanks Linda,I phoned and asked for a form for supersession,it's very similar to the usual form but gives you the option to ask them not to look at mobility ,which I did as I already got higher rate.I researched my problems using the DLA using the A-Z of medical conditions in the members section to satisfy myself that I shouldn't lose what I already had(low rate care).I then filled in the form as normal saying what help I needed every day.

I found my biggest problem was worrying that I'd lose what I had,but in the end bit the bullet and tried and now regret not doing it earlier.Maybe you can get a benefits advisor to see if your original claim is safe (not likely to be lost) before asking for the form.

good luck in any claim you make, the peeps on here will any way they can,let us know what happens.

Thanks Darren that helps a lot as I have been on high mobility low care since 2001 and have a motability car so have been scared I'd lose it even though my needs are much greater. em if that makes sense  fibrofoggy
best i find my backbone huh
