Pathways to work concern was created by Benson
Is it correct that those on 12 months prognosis in ESA WRAG will soon also have to go to Pathways ? I heard that it used to be those on 3 months, then was recently increased to those on 6 and now is even been strongly considered for those on 12 months.

I got 12 months prognosis so I am a bit concerned if this is true and going to happen. So just curious if anyone else has heard this and if there is any more details ?

Pathways to Work ended in April and was replaced by the Work Programme.

Members of the WRAG are being referred when they have three months remaining on their prognosis see the following FAQ.

Thanks. I wonder if I misunderstood the term used, I think I only used the word "Pathways" because that is what I always remember it being called, the person who told me the info probably didn't mention Pathways but did say it was an organisation that gets payment for each person who they get employment for that lasts 12 months in the job.

So reading your FAQ it says 3 months before prognosis people will be put in the work programme. Perhaps this person meant that was only for those with 3 or 6 months on their prognosis but has now changed to those with 12 too ? Or perhaps what they meant is everyone with 6 or 12 months, along with those already with 3, will have to go to this programme straight away rather than waiting until the last 3 months.

Whatever it was, it didn't sound too promising if it comes in to action. I just remember them saying it recently changed to those with 6 months prognosis and is now being considered for those with 12 months too, and it was work programme related.

The Work Programme itself is already running into trouble, many of the providers are struggling to meet the performance targets being set by the DWP.

There seems little value in passing ESA claimants even earlier to the Work Programme as they cannot be required to work, or to even seek work, which is sort of fundamental to the success of the programme.

After all, these companies are only paid for successfully placing claimants into work.

How can they be given targets when each claimant has different levels of disability, you can't target that surely. What a whole joke this system is. Is it due to the Condems or was Labour planning all this too ? Ever since the new government has come in everything seems to be changing day by day almost.
