I explained it was mainly because my Carer has no money and can only be back dated 3 months.
Worried I have done the wrong thing
I say "tough" to the DWP, you are entitled to do this, if you weren't then they would not have accepted the claim.
If the original claim is reactivated then they can merge them together.
You have not done anything wrong.

Can you refuse to be examined or are they allowed to hurt you?
Why? Because I was told that Atos want to see if you can push through the pain but I thought
that wasn't allowed.

They are usually about an hour but can go longer or shorter.
You most certainly can refuse to carry out any activity that would cause you pain, just make sure that you explain each time why you are refusing.
I don't know where you have heard this about ATOS but assessors really don't have any interest in causing the claimant pain.

For the physical, he said he could see I was exhausted so wouldn't ask me to get up, he would demonstrate the movements and ask me how far I could do them. The only actual things he asked me to do were to grip his hands and pinch my thumb and fingers together.
I had been dreading the whole thing but it was much easier than I expected. Had he asked me to do anything I couldn't, I would simply have politely refused and explained why but it didn't even come up.
