transfer from ib to esa

Hi, is there any news on how long it will be before those that are still on incapacity benefit are transferred over to ESA.? I know there is a backlog with esa reassessments but I'm not not sure what the situation is with those not yet moved over.

Hi pjd,

There is no way of knowing.

All IB, IS and SDA recipients should have been transferred over to ESA by Spring 2014, another failed target.

We have recently seen some SDA recipients transferred over, and it was originally stated that these claimants would be transferred over last.

You will continue to receive your IB until you are transferred over and a decision is made on your qualification for ESA.

Hi bro58, thanks for replying. Do you know if there is still a large amount of people yet to be transferred over and do you think the backlog would be cleared sometime this year.

Yes there is still quite a large backlog, but I have no idea how long it will take to get the process running as normal.

Maximus, who are taking over from ATOS in March 2015 have said that it "could take as long as 18 months to clear", see :
