I heard today thwtDWP tend to be dismissing the Ha report if they feel it's favourable, imnot sure this is correct and cannot understand how that could be as the DMs aren't medically trained are they, how much weight does the health assessment report carry? I worried as decision is taking a while even though they have had the report several weeks. Hearing that they can dispute the report or even ask for another assessment has totally depressed me!

Just wondered what your thoughts are please ?

DM's tend to follow the recommendation in the assessment report but we do see them adding and subtracting points on occasion, probably in a about equal measure.

Two points; there are lots of urban myths about benefit assessments, pretty much all of the are untrue. Secondly, forums like B&W are primarily inhabited by claimants who are having problems with their claims. we're lucky that a lot of members come back to the forum to tell us of their success, so if you look at these forums you will get a very negative view of the system, the reality is that most assessments are carried out professionally and the claimant receives the correct award.

Hello,
An update,on my PIP claim, I had enhanced daily care and mobility .
My experience has been quite positive. I put a lot of work into the application - -thanks to the guides - I had the f2f quickly - the health assessor was at my home for 3 hours but was pleasant enough - she said decision would be about 4-6 weeks and she was right.
Bit disappointed award is only for 3 years but I'm just glad for some breathing space.
Thank you for all your advice and information provided.
