Very good news for you Paula. I have just had the outcome from Mandatory Reconsideration and the DWP are maintaining the same award of Standard Daily Living and standard Mobility. I transferred from DLA to PIP and the DLA awarded both higher awards.

Whilst I realise that the criteria have changed, I also know that my conditions (MS is not one of them) are degenerative and that I am now able to walk and carry out fewer activities than previously.

Because I feel strongly that I do meet criteria for higher awards, I am going to push forwards to Appeal but am absolutely dreading it. I find it very difficult to scrutinize all the negative things about physical disability and even harder to talk about them.

I wondered if you felt there were a few particular points that you perhaps made, or were asked about, that helped the appeal panel to understand your particular circumstances and how you met the criteria despite what the Health Professional and DWP had stated. The ability to move around criteria has been very difficult possibly because I still think that I only need to be seen to walk to know that it can only really be unreliable and unsafe.
