Hi everyone, I had my ESA assessment this morning and I fel as if it went ok. I had it recorded and the assessor had been a GP for about 25 years (he was nearing 70) He was very understanding of my illnesses and had definitely read the stuff I'd sent in. He offered to change the chair for a comfy one before we started as I said that the hard ones hurt my skinny bum bones obviously I accepted. He didn't ask any of the "trick questions" that they sometimes apparently use and really focused on those areas which cause me problems. I almost had the impression that he was going out of his way to help me ( awaiting his report of course lol) Did the muscular skeletal check and the respiratory check. I did get him to confirm that he will make full awareness of the variability of my symptoms and that although I was capable of x at 9.30 AM I certainly wouldn't at 2PM. He didn't type into a computer, didn't have one, but made good quality notes of the assessment and physical (I could read everything he wrote) He said 2 or 3 week wait for decision so just got to keep stuff crossed now and concentrate on my PIP form...

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear that you were treated properly by your assessor!

Fingers crossed that you don't have to wait long for a favourable decision.

Brilliant news,
just checked my bank balance to find a nice payment from the DWP, can't break it down yet to work out how I've been awarded, but I definitely have. Judging by the figure it looks as if it includes the disability premium which would mean support group.
Damned quick going when my assessment was only 2 weeks ago today, pity they took 18 months up till assessment though. Phew one down PIP assessment next Friday. Good luck to everyone still waiting and thank you B&W for your amazing guides and info xx

That's very good news Mel - although we will save the red heart until you have heard officially :)

Good luck with the PIP assessment, I hope you are successful with this claim too.

Just had the post with the official letter into support group, no assessors report though which I was told would be sent out with it.... I will chase that up on Monday just so I have a record of everything in my file. Many thanks for the help I've got from you all here, although I don't often post I read loads...
