Esa reassessment confusion was created by Samantha
Help! Im in the esa wrag for mental health reasons and ive rescently got much worse. After having a panic attack at my very unsympathetic advisor she said i should be reassessed and she would send an email and i would be called in a few days. After waiting and waiting for a call that never came my mum phoned them. They never got advisors email so god knows where it was sent, my mum explained my situation and was told a form would be sent in two weeks which i should return with a doctors letter. Three weeks later no form so mum calls again, apparently im not due to be reassessed till next year, they dont have any record of my form request and even if they did they dont send them. He said i should send a doctors note and a cover letter to freepost, dwp, esa 26.
I dont know what to do, i need to get this sorted, my advisor will send me on some kind of course that i really cant cope with. This whole thing is making me so much worse and im scared what will happen if i dont get into the support group, it seems they dont even want me to apply to get in!!

Hi Samantha and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I'm afraid that the JobCentre advisers often give out false information to claimants, they often don't understand the way ESA works or the requirements for the Support Group!

If you can prove that your condition has deteriorated, such that you now meet at least one of the Support Group descriptors, you should write to DWP to report a 'Change in Circumstances'.

Qualifying for the Support Group

This would most likely prompt a full reassessment with an ESA50 to complete and [possibly the requirement for a face2face assessment.

Whilst the reassessment is taking place, you would remain in the WRAG and be required to undertake Work Related Activities or risk your payments being sanctioned. The advisor should take into account your medical problems when deciding what activities are appropriate.

If you decide to go down this route, please make full use of our ESA giude

ESA claims and appeals

May I suggest that you favourite/bookmark this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your ESA without having to start a new topic each time. It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim are kept in one topic - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

Have you received written notice of the Decision?

All I can suggest is that you contact the DWP.
