Hello Not sure if anyone has had this happen. I had a face to face appointment on 13/10/2016 for PIP I had sent 3 letters from my Doctor for a home visit but was told they are very few and far between. My Brother had to nearly carry me into the assessment and they had to move the assessment room nearer for me as they could see I could barely walk. The receptionist also asked did my brother need assistance helping me out when the assessment was over.
Anyway today I received a letter Dated 13/10/2016 saying that I agreed by telephone to waive the 7 day notice and my appointment is going to be 13/10/2016. I never agreed to waive the 7 days notice my Brother did phone Capita to see if I could have a home visit.

My brother phoned today to find out why this letter was sent after the fact and the Call Center person said it was their fault and that it can only be that the HP I was to see could not make it so theycancelled that appointment and changed to another HP person same time and date. But they would not say why the letter said I phoned them and agreed to waive the 7 day notice. It is an out right lie. I am now worrying over this. The person at Capita said he could not see any record on my file.
I just want to know has this happened to anyone else and do I need to do anything else. My brother has noted the call and what was said for our records

A bit confused, your post suggests you attended an assessment on 13/10, which I assume was completed.

Is the letter in regard to this appointment or not? If it is then it just appears to be an admin muck up and I wouldn't worry about it, if they are inviting you to a second appointment then you should be asking why this is required.

Hello Gordon,
Thank you for replying. I first received the appointment letter 29/9/2016 and I attended the assessment 13/10/2016.
What bothers me is that they said in the letter I received today dated 13/10/2016 so sent the day of the appointment. That I had telephoned them and that I waived the 7 day requirement for the appointment. Which is untrue. I was just worried if they have that on a letter what else would they have got wrong. I just worry over all of this. That they can write and say you have done something when I never did. I do suffer from anxiety and ME plus a load of over illnesses and disabilities which causes me to stress over things.

That's a lie claimants can request a home visit for their face-to-face assessment but they must get a letter request from their GP on health ground that they cannot attend a face-to-face to an assessment centre. Anyone can request a home visit.

Anyway today I received a letter Dated 13/10/2016 saying that I agreed by telephone to waive the 7 day notice and my appointment is going to be 13/10/2016. I never agreed to waive the 7 days notice my Brother did phone Capita to see if I could have a home visit.

I would say to do a SAR and specifically ask for an Audit trail dated 1st October 2016 to date. You must use the word specific. (For example I'm specifically requesting for an Audit Trail on my claim from 1st October 2016 till date).

My brother phoned today to find out why this letter was sent after the fact and the Call Center person said it was their fault and that it can only be that the HP I was to see could not make it so theycancelled that appointment and changed to another HP person same time and date.

Yes that happened to my friend first letter came 13/10/2016 and second 19/10/2016. I rang Atos with regards to the first letter and was told it was to do with the HP that another HP will be coming, my friend had a face-to-face at her home just one GP's letter but not without me having a fight with both atos and dwp. Anyway going back to the HP, I told atos why they didn't make it clear that another HP would be coming not much respond from them. I had a letter on the 18/10/2016 from atos giving me the name of the HP, her NMC number but the person who came for the home face-to-face was another person hence! the second letter on the 19th of october 2016 by then my friend had her assessment the letter dated 19th oct 2016 came on 21st oct the assessment date, I rang atos today and told them why the hp was not the person they've stated in their letter and demand her full name and nmc number of the new HP, rang NMC the number atos gave me was incorrect rang back atos and told them the hp NMC number was incorrect and found out the hp who came was in fact a paramedic. I'm reading all about paramedic already their code and standards etc, I will leave no stone unturned.

But they would not say why the letter said I phoned them and agreed to waive the 7 day notice. It is an out right lie. I am now worrying over this. The person at Capita said he could not see any record on my file.

I would advise you to record everything single phone call you make to both dwp and atos never ever call them without recording your conversations ask for their names also. I record everything you'll be surprised how they move quickly and how things can changed when they know you have records of your conversations with them. My friend went through all sorts, dwp waited when they got the gp letter and sent a letter to say my friend cannot receive pip because she has not given a good reason for cancelling the first appointment which was at an assessment centre, I gave a good reasons and told both atos and dwp to repeat what i've said as the good reasons both refused to repeat it. It took 30 minutes for both to repeat the reasons to me all the times i was recording the conversations they was not aware of it. By the way you are entitled to record your conversations to both because it is for your own personal use only, if they ask you for a copy of the record you can give it to them it will not class as a third party because it is atos and dwp you are giving the copy to and not anybody else.

DWP gone from refusing my friend PIP to ring back within 10 minutes to let me know my friend's PIP is back on but would not tell me if it's going to be a home assessment another letter came this time they've booked the assessment to another assessment centre much much further and at 9.00am in the morning, I rang them and had words, an hour later I went to my friend GP to get her prescriptions and the receptionist told me someone rang and asked about your friend's health conditions but will not give their name when the receptionist asked. I know it was atos they must have call the gp straight after my phone call anyway they were told my friend is a housebound patient, I rang my friend gp and asked for that receptionist and record her telephone conversation about the person who rang and asked about her health, new letter came with the home assessment it took all in all 6 days I didn't get the chance to finish the Mandatory reconsideration letter. Now we shall wait for the report which I've asked today by phone which has been recorded of course and will send a letter to follow.

All first time face-to-face assessment can be cancelled and booked for a time and date that suit you, you do not need to give good reasons, second assessment can be cancel but you must have a good reasons. If your representative cannot attend a face-to-face with you, you can cancel that appointment it will be good reasons enough.

As mentioned above all claimants can request a face-to-face-assessment when they fill in their PIP2 but make sure you have a letter from your gp requesting the home visit and on health ground.

The admin staff who book appointments are totally separate from the assessment team, so I would not worry about the letter.

It's not a problem with members giving advice but you need to read the OP's post properly, they have already had an assessment!
