TOPIC: Pip payments stopped

Pip payments stopped 1 month 1 week ago #172255

Hi, I had a letter to say the my PIP ran out on Dec 16th 2016, and was sent a new form to fill in. I did this and sent medical evidence. Now all of a sudden my payments have stopped without warning me. If my PIP was awarded to 16th Dec 2016 why has it stopped. Is this right. I rang the PIP helpline and they told me that because I sent in a new claim, even though it was a re-claim, they can stop my money until the decision makers have decided what to do. Surely this isnt right. Please advise

This is wrong although a new Decision can change or end your current award early, but until a new Decision is made your current award should remain in payment. I'm afraid you need to contact the DWP again and if necessary escalate the problem to a manager, this usually requires a call back.

Hello, I need your help please. As i said in my first message, I had to apply again to get PIP which was due to finish 10.12.16. DWP sent a letter and said if I wanted to claim again I had to do it before 16 Oct. This I did and sent in my DS1500 as requested. My money stopped coming into my bank a/c on 18th Oct, and I have had no letter to say why. It just stopped. I am in remission at the moment from severe liver cirosshis and diabetes Type 1. Medication is keeping me alive. Since posting my last post, I have been admitted to a mental health crisis team and was placed in a critical care home for a week. I cut my wrists and over dosed on insulin. My partner found me and got help. I have nothing to live on. Repeatedly I contact DWP and now gone gone to CAB, but still nothing happens. They dont ring me back . Please help me. I cannot carry on like this

Did you contact the DWP again, as advised?

You did not mention a DS1500 in your first post but also say that you are in remission, was the DS1500 recently issued?

No the DS1500 was from the initial application, the Dr has written supporting evidence of this for the recent application.

I contact the DWP everyday, but they have now told me that they are looking into why the payments stopped and will let me know Monday. I wait in anticipation. Thanks
