Yes you can ask about their medical background but they do not have to go into detail about it, usually they will tell you if they are a doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, etc.

If you don't go then the only person who will suffer as a result is yourself, so please think carefully about doing this.

You won't be asked to do anything strenuous, if what they ask you to do would cause you pain or distress then you can refuse to do, just make sure that you explain why you are refusing.

Have a look at the PIP Claim guide for more information about the assessment and the questions you are likely to be asked.

Have now had a copy of the Atos assessment, lots of inaccuracies, However looking like I will get Enhanced care, by the boxes she ticked,
As for Mobility its looking like 8 points, All the way through the report she mentions limited movement and weak legs, but it the box underneath moving around she has mentioned that unable to use walking aid due to pressure that would be on upper body,She also mentions on completion of Physical was noted to be short of breath.
On Section 11. Planning and following journeys there is no points, which is odd considering I never go out alone due to fear of falling and passing out, she mentions I did not fear anxious, she has said that several times, Reason not anxious that day was dosed up on Diazepam to get me to the interview,
Waiting for the result and decision but would if needed be able to appeal the mobility as she states many times about limited movement, and missed the section where I dont go out alone,

You need to wait for the Decision the Decision Maker may take a different view from the assessor!

You may struggle to score points for points for the Going Out activity as the underlying condition is a physical one and this is only covered by the Moving Around activity.
