Esa form anxiety was created by Punkprincess
Hi. Im new to the site so if my post is wrongly placed i apologize.
I suffer from major anxiety and depression. I was diagnosed 3 years ago and went from jsa to esa. Firstly i was put in a work related group which i appealed on the basis i can bearly leave the house and won.
A couple of days ago i recieved a esa50 form to be sent back by 14th Dec. I am absolutely petrified they will demand a face to face assessment and stop my benefits. I have done nothing but cry and panic since I opened that letter. My biggest fear is since my last assessment i have started the open university. The whole thing is online so again i dont leave the house. Is this going to go against me now? Is there anyway i can avoid the face to face assessment?
Please help. I have no one to turn to and im making myself sick worrying.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

The first thing you need to concentrate on is returning the ESA50, if you don't then your claim will be closed so you must get the form back to Maximus by the 14th, there are no extensions available for completing the ESA50.

Please make use of our ESA Claim guides to help you complete the form. See

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/esa1

You can ask for a home assessment but you will need your GP to write to Maximus explaining why you cannot attend at their offices.

Your doing an Open University course should not be an issue unless your doing it contradicts the limitations that you state on the ESA50, for example; if you state that you have problems starting and finishing tasks then this would be contradictory to your doing the task, but your being unable to leave your house would not.
