PIP : Review or reapply ? was created by neptuno
There seems to be a lot of confusion once PIP is due for renewal. Some are asked to complete a review of award form 1043 and others have to reapply.

Please can you clarify who is responsible for initiating each procedure and why ? Is the onus always on the claimant ?

We haven't seen any DWP documents that make the situation any clearer but as far as we understand it.

If the DWP initiate the assessment because a fixed term award is coming to an end then expect an AR1 unless the previous Decision was made at a Tribunal when a PIP2 is more likely.

If the reassessment is the result of a Change of Circumstances, either initiated by the claimant or the DWP then expect a PIP2.
