Won't accept telephone claim pt1 due to Nat Ins no

Has anyone any Ideas why they are doing this?
Help! I am on DLA which was due to end 14th Dec. I called to claim PIP on the 8th Dec and told that I could not claim over the phone because my Nation Insurance Number was not being recognised. Apparently it was because it was a Jersey number(I lived there for 9 months when I was 15 now I'm 58). No one ever mentioned this before. And it has never been an issue before. They said a different department would deal with my claim and they would send me a claim form 1 out which I still haven't got.

Isn't it typical of DWP- members who want to initiate their claim by post are being told they cannot; you want to do yours over the phone and are told you must do it by post!

You need to give DWP a poke to get this sorted out and your PIP claim started, otherwise your DLA payments will be suspended!

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without starting a new claim each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too
