Pip assessment was created by hicky1
Hi the dwp have had my daughters pip review form since the 28 th of October it's the new shorter form. They have apperently sent the form to the assessment provider on the 5th of December. I ticked no change for each box and added up to date medical evidence from various professionals to show her disability which is cerebral palsy has not changed. Does the fact that the file has been sent to the assessment provider mean she will have to attend a medical assessment as I assumed with up to date medical evidence that the dwp could make a decision without referral.

The DWP have no in-house medical support for PIP so they will always involve the relevant Assessment Provider when they have a PIP2 or AR1, it doesn't mean that a face to face will be required.

Thanks for replying Gordon that makes sense and has stopped me worrying as I was under the impression that the DM at dwp could make a decision without referring it to assessment provider I was worried about the evidence I sent in as I couldn't send in anything any better to explain how her disability hasn't changed so was thinking what more could I do if the DM couldn't clearly see the difficulties she has everyday and needed to refer it

Unfortunately DM's have no medical experience so are unlikely to appreciate the information that you have included.

well appointment for pip assessment has come through for 1st week in january this time at an assessment centre in birmingham was given a home assessment on the dla to pip change over. gutted that we have to take her for assessment really believed that with all the medical evidence from a range of consultants they would do a paper based assessment.
