PIP F2F at home by Atos - autism with catatonia was created by Kalen
I sent in my form with tonnes of evidence, but all from social workers, support workers and a psychologist. No doctors. My GP was asked for a report but wasn't clear what they wanted, so wrote for more detailed instructions. I've just had a letter saying they will be assessing me at home in 12 days. I know they don't do home assessments very readily, so they must have believed that I would have severe difficulty with an assessment centre.
Any advice on how to handle the assessment? I am wondering who I should have with me. I can have a support worker, my partner, a friend or possibly my social worker.

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
The home assessment will be very similar to those carried out in assessment centres. Our PIP guide explains what to expect
PIP help for claimants
It is up to you in which room the assessment is held and who you have with you. I suggest it is the person with whom you feel most comfortable, especially as you will be talking about very personal subjects.
You do not have to make any special preparations for the visit, you certainly don't have to clear up. In fact, you don't even have to get up and dressed if you don't want to!
The assessor has no more rights than any other visitor to your home. They do not have the right to 'snoop' around the rest of your home - but nor have we heard of anyone asking to do so.
May I suggest that you favourite/bookmark this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too
