On the mainland we have seen PIP decisions taking up to 8 weeks, so your case is still within this timefame.

The only other thing you can do is ask your MP to get involved to speed up the process.

Contacting your MP

Hi,I got the dreaded letter on Saturday and very pleased to tell you I got standard awards in both categories.I would like to thank the team for helping me in my times of despair.Just one other question I am in the process of being reassessed for ESA even though I have only been in the support group for just over 3 months.Should I ring them and let them know about my PIP awards? Will this help my case for remaining in the support group?I followed your template when filling in the ESA50 Form 2 weeks ago..

My PIP took 22 weeks to finally get a result.Near the end I was ringing every other day just to see if they had a decision. On Tuesday of last I was told a decision had been made and the letter posted out,but only received it on Saturday backdated to September 2nd 2016.. Very happy indeed.

Congratulations on the PIP award, well done.

Informing those assessing your ESA about the PIP award may help but to be of value you need to show that the reasons that you have the award are relevant to your ESA claim as well, perhaps you could write a short letter about this and send a copy to the DWP office dealing with your ESA claim, marked for the attention on the Decision Maker and take a copy to any face to face assessment that you might have and ask the assessor to read it and include it in your file before they proceed with the interview.

Hi I also read a very interesting subject on Northern Ireland DLA changing to PIP. It was about the NI Assembly they approved a article in ref this change over. For example if a person was on DLA high rate for care and motability and you loose that down to low rate or even altogether,There is a fund set up at Stormount Belfast for people to get the same as before for one year less £5 of each benefit for care and motability.

I think I read that in the paper a while ago, perhaps the mods on here could confirm if this is true.Just pointing out incase folk in Northern Ireland are not aware of it.Its a good fall back if it does exist, however the Stormount ex has now fallen and that may not be the case now.
