Atos rang me on Wednesday to cancel this appointment for some reason then left me confused that there was not another appointment available.
I simply do not know what to do. I followed the guide to fill out my form and also had a lot of help but now I am panicking they will stop my benefit. Please could you advise me what to do?

Carla wrote: I was sent home from my PIP assessment today without seeing anyone after I had had a panic attack in the crowded waiting room and wet myself. It was humiliating. This was my second arranged appointment and I received no letter for either only having had to reschedule after a text reminder for the initial appointment left me no time to arrange support to be there with me.

The first think you need to do is to contact ATOS to find out what is happening in regard to an assessment, if a new appointment needs to be booked then there is no problem although you might want to check the address they have for you if you have not received any of the previous appointment letters.
If a new appointment is not going to be booked then come back to the forum with details of what you have been told.

OK you will have to wait for the DWP to write to you about why you did not attend and see how the treat this.

I also explained my current life stressors (away from my adapted home on police advisory due to physical abuse by neighbours, anxiety around crowds and strangers etc.). She advised me that they may be able to offer me another appointment, but in view of the fact I may well have the same issues when faced with the waiting room again she advised that getting my doctor or psychiatrist to write a letter explaining this they may be able to do a paper review on the information provided.
I will take her advice and keep you posted.
