DLA to PIP - time from form to assessment? was created by AlexBloomsbury
HI, I sent off my DLA - PIP on 20 May and receipt was acknowledged on 24th. The ESA decision took a year but everything I've read on PIP seems to indicate that it's much much quicker/(?}
I do know there's nothing I can do except sit and wait but, as with everyone else, the tension increases with every day knowing, as we all do that any downward results will be disastrous.
With ESA, knowing that I was not alone in waiting for so long for an assessment was of huge help
Scaringly, I've heard that an a decision can be made without a interview so does anyone have any experience of whether the waiting period has any bearing on this?
Am so terrified of this - esp the face to face bit but waiting for a possible negative response without one is worse
is there an average time from DLA - PIP form receipt to assessment?
ut an interview is worse ......!

Alex
Most claimants should expect a face to face appointment, if you need one (most do), within a couple of weeks of your returning your PIP2 form, for a date 2-3 weeks further out.

I'm just three days behind you Alex, mine were received on the 27th and I haven't heard anything back yet. Hang in there I was giving it till the end of this month at least. Thanks Gordon for the timescale that's helpful.
