PIP Medical evidence was created by Suzyw
Hi....I am new to the forum, so hope I am posting in the right place. I am in the process of completing the PIP application form , havin been invited to transfer from DLA.
Whilst at a medical appointment earlier today, the medic advised me that he had been told by a lawyer that the DWP can choose to ignore any medical reports I submit if they are dated after their letter inviting me to apply for PIP. Can anyone advise me if this is correct, or just hearsay.
Regards

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

No it's not true.
You can submit new evidence at any time up to an including the day of the assessment. Assessors are required to accept, read and include it in the claimants file
Once a Decision has been made then new evidence will only be considered if they claimant requests a Mandatory Reconsideration.
If evidence is submitted before a Decision is made, but does not get to the DM before the Decision is made then it will almost certainly be disregarded.
If evidence is submitted after the assessment then it is reliant on the Decision Maker recognising it's importance, they are not medically trained so it is down to them to seek further opinion from the assessor. They may not.
