Carers was created by MARIA MCGRATH
Hi I was just wondering if any one can give advice on the careers allowance and the ESA.
What it is I sent the ESA form back last October the one where they see what one I am to go on and have not heard from them since would be very grateful if someone can help.
Also my husband was awarded Carers allowance from July to the beginning of December. He was sent another form which he filled in and sent back and has not heard anything since.
Would be very grateful for any help on these matters.
Thanks

Hi Maggie,
There are considerable delays (with many benefits) in some cases. The only thing I can suggest about your ESA is that you contact Maximus and ask what is happening.
www.chdauk.co.uk/contact-us
Do you mean that your husband is in receipt of the daily living element of DLA/PIP/ Attendance Allowance? It is unusual for someone receiving 'Carers' Allowance' (for looking after someone on DLA/PIP or AA) to be reassessed in the way you have explained.
Again, you can only find out what is happening regarding your husband's claim by contacting the Assessment Provider, who this is will depend on your postcode if we are talking about PIP.

If I have misunderstood, please correct me and I will do my best to help.
May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your ESA without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too

Maggie
Please don't post in capitals, it causes problems for members who use text to speech software.
Who is your husband claiming the CA against? It needs to be someone receiving DLA MRC or HRC, PIP Daily Living or Attendance Allowance. ESA is not classed as an enabling benefit.
Without more information all I can suggest is that he contacts the Carers Unit for more information.

Hi I am new to all the emailing sorry if I had it wrong.
My husband is my Carer and was accepted last year for the weekly payments. after I had an operation for the removal of a Brain Tumour,
He was paid up until December and then it stopped. He Had to fill in another form and sent that off in December and has not heard anything since.
He has called the office but they say it is still waiting on a Desision.
Can anyone tell me if they have been through this, and any idea why you get it one minute and it is stopped the next. He is still looking after me as a Carer.
Thank you
