ESA RENEWAL

Hi after a 7 month wait I received an appointment for a F2F ESA renewal assessment at beginning of December . I just couldn't attend and my GP wrote a supporting letter and a friend phoned
and cancelled on my behalf .I was sent another appointment for the following week . My GP advised me not to attend as I was distraught and suicidal . I vowed after my last assessment never to attend again . My GP contacted them again and At 5pm the night before the appointment I had a phone call from the assessment Centre saying my application was under review and my appointment was cancelled .It is now 31/2 months and I have heard nothing . In the meantime I was moved from DLA to PIP with a higher award and no medical . This only took 5 weeks . Your site was a wonderful support . Thank you . Happy as I am to receive PIP especially as the rules for mental health are changing so unfairly .i am beside myself about ESA . I expect the advice will be to contact them but I am terrified .

It could be that your claim has stalled because the assessment providers do not believe they have enough information to make a recommendation to DWP without seeing you.

However, this is only guesswork. The only way you will know for sure is to ask. You can get a friend to call for you (you would have to be on hand to answer security questions). Or you can try emailing the assessment provider - this will be ATOS or Capita, depending on your postcode.
