Moved adress and benefits cut for over 2 months

I moved address in Jan, and was worried my benefits would be cut for no reason, which appeared to happen. I am in receipt or ESA wrag and PIP, and was receiving carers alllowance SD10 payment. However as soon as I moved I received new benefit letters, quoting a change from contribution based to income based ESA and quoted a lower rate payment of ESA than previously (I am highly dubious that was the case as had that letter a year previously). With this change my carers premium of £60 per week was stopped. I believe this is called the SDP, I also received a new IS10 from shortly after moving which I completed and returned, but nothing has happened. Although the form only asks 'do you have a carer not in receipt of carers allowance?', when the payment is awarded it is always referred to on letters as extreme disability payment.

We called dwp over 2 weeks ago to ask what is happening and they said they had received the form and were looking at it, it has now been over 2 months without benefit? I really don't know what to do as find it hard to cope with the stress and understanding these?

Thanks

I am sorry but I am a bit confused by your post.

You say you are receiving a Carers Allowance payment are you caring for somebody and are you still doing this now that you have moved.

You also mention the Severe Disability Premium, is this what you at referring to when you mention CA? The two are not the same!

Re the SDP, as you have moved the DWP have to confirm that you still meet the criteria for payment, these are that you live alone and the no one receives Carers Allowance for you.

I don't know why but from comments on B&W and other forums, the DWP seem to take a long time to process SDP requests, all I can suggest is that you continue to chase them.

If you are suffering financial hardship due to the SDP not being paid then you can try involving your MP.

Hi yes the S10 form asks if I have a carer, which I do my family cares for me, and as they do not claim carers allowance received payment for that, when I originally was awarded the time difference between returning the form and receiving seemed quite quick, no other changes, thanks.

If you have said on the form that they care for you this may be at the root of the delay, as they may be checking whether a CA claim is in place.

Ok I was wondering if it could be affected by things like not changing the electoral role at my new address as yet, or not registering for a new doctor, I stayed with my old one and didn't change address with them as had a nightmare getting my medication being forced to move over the last year.

I would be very surprised if it was either of these.
